Notice to Users: Court Fines and SMS Messages. Please be advised that you will never be notified of court fines, fees, or payment requests via SMS (text message). Official notifications regarding fines or court matters are provided only through authorized channels such as official letters, secure portals, or direct communication from the court. If you receive a text message claiming to be about court fines or requesting payment, do not respond or click any links. This may be a scam. Report suspicious messages to the court or your IT/security office. Your security and trust are important to us.

Have you been contacted by a person claiming to be a court employee who states that you are not in compliance with an order of the court because you missed a court date or did not pay?

Keep yourself safe from cyber criminals imitating court telephone numbers (“spoofing”) who demand payment! Anyone who receives a suspicious phone call should hang up and verify the status of their case using the NMCourts Case Lookup tool. You can also contact the court directly or call court customer service at: 855-268-7804. Remember: you can always see a Judge to address your outstanding issues.

All courts within the New Mexico Judiciary will NEVER attempt to make contact to you via telephone, email, or employ bonding companies to notify you of warrants issued by the Court for failure to appear for Jury Service or for any other matter.

If you have been contacted in this manner, it is a SCAM and you are advised to report it to local law enforcement.
